Catholic Central High School, under the auspices of the Archdiocese of Cincinnati, is a small college preparatory Catholic high school, which serves the Springfield/Clark County community. Springfield is primarily an industrial city of 75,000. Nearby colleges include Wittenberg University and Clark State Community College. Central’s students come from the area’s farming communities, the suburbs, and within the city. The students are diverse and high achieving. In grades 9-12, Catholic Central’s total enrollment is 164, with 17 teaching faculty. There are four quarters in the school year and one Winter Term, during which students can take intensive classes, participate in a structured, professional internship, or travel to Ireland through the annual Irish Studies class. Catholic Central is accredited by the North Central Association and the Ohio Catholic Schools Association.
